Primary School in Koh Phangan — learning how to think, not what to remember
Our Primary programme combines the Cambridge Curriculum with nature-based, enquiry-led learning. Children deepen subject knowledge and grow as confident, curious learners.
Rigour and joy, in the same lesson
We balance academic rigour with creativity and outdoor learning. Lessons are built around inquiry, collaboration and practical problem-solving, so children learn how to think rather than what to remember.
Eight subject areas run through both key stages — English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Creativity, Vitality, Wellbeing and Innovation. The subjects stay constant; the depth, independence and ambition grow.
Key Stage 1
Building independence, curiosity and core skills.
In Key Stage 1, children move into more structured learning without losing the fun. Lessons are interactive and inquiry-based, connecting knowledge across subjects. Children build strong foundations and take real ownership of their learning.
Key Areas of Learning
Eight subjects, one hands-on approach — English and Mathematics sit alongside Science, Humanities, Creativity, Vitality, Wellbeing and Innovation, each taught through activities children can touch and test, not just read about.
- English Reading, Writing, Phonics, Speaking & Listening
- Mathematics Problem-solving, Number sense, Reasoning
- Science Investigation, Observation and Experimentation
- Humanities History, Geography, Global Understanding

Key Stage 2
Deepening knowledge, critical thinking and global awareness.
In Key Stage 2, children build on the skills they have already gained. Learning grows more rigorous, and children think critically, work independently and apply knowledge to real-world problems. Independence, leadership and responsibility grow both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Areas of Learning
The same eight subjects continue, but the work gets harder — project-based learning that asks children to apply what they know, lead in the classroom and think beyond Koh Phangan, ahead of secondary school.
